Background: In the early 1980s, Nigel Gearing started out working with Miller's Antiques, before launching Pine News International in 1986. The title became integral to the burgeoning pine furniture industry during the late 1980s/1990s, and in 1993 the publisher launched Furniture Production, a specialist publication for furniture and joinery manufacturers (sold in 2020).
In 2001, Pine News evolved into Furniture News, to more accurately mirror the cabinet furniture industry’s diversification, while encompassing upholstery, beds and decorative accessories.
In 2009, the company added the Hospitality Interiors title to its portfolio, and went on to launch the Hospitality Leadership & Design Conference (HLDC) – both of which were sold in 2022.
The publisher has also delivered other B2B titles including Tile UK and Carpet & Flooring Review.
